You've done so much in 12 months of existence: traveled near (Dallas, Houston) and far (Phoenix, Taiwan), moved houses, transferred to a big girl carseat, raced at two basketball games, was on ESPN, rode the Zilker Zephyr, and probably some more... I just can't think :) And I know you're destined for more great things over the next year.
You're quite the pro at pushing all your toys around. You still can't turn them around yourself, but are getting better about pulling up onto the push-toys and off you go. You love your baby doll and give her hugs while saying "Awww" - it really is the cutest. Bathtime is also your favorite, so we tend to spend more and more time after dinner in the tub getting all clean.
In terms of eating, you're still great. And you can really eat a lot. I asked Aunt Lindsay one day how much you should eat, because sometimes I could just keep feeding you. She laughed and said, "Really until she stops eating, I guess?" The next day, Mimi was watching you and said she realized why I asked that - you just didn't stop! I hope I'm not jinxing myself, but we really are lucky you love food so much. You still eat a pretty good variety, but prefer eggs, pancakes, sausages, clementine oranges, blueberries, squash / zucchini, grilled cheese, and baked chicken. Not bad, right? As for nursing, you're starting to wean. You only nurse when you wake up, after morning nap (before lunch), and before bed. We'll drop the noon feed, then night, and save the morning for last. I think you'll do ok as I think it's more comfort for you, but I'm feeling super emotional about it. I guess it just means my baby really is growing up.
You're still a good sleeper at night, and naps are mostly great. You're pretty much like clockwork going down in the morning around 10:30am, but it usually varies how long you'll sleep, anywhere from an hour to two. Afternoon nap is going down between 3:30pm and maybe 4:30pm, but you only sleep 30 minutes, sometimes an hour. But you love bedtime (like your mom) and go down after dinner, bath, and then books, usually at 7:00pm. Sometimes you wake around 6:00 or 6:30am, but aren't ready to wake up, but also need help getting back to sleep. But I still count that as a win!
We're getting ready for your big first birthday party this weekend with all of your (and my) friends! You love playing at My Gym and being with other kids, so I think you'll have a really fun time. Like I said, it crazy to think I have a one year old, but you've brought so much joy, love, and adventure to our lives. And we couldn't think what life would be like without you in it. We love you, baby girl!
xoxo,
Your Mom
