Hanging Out in a Nutshell

Kennedy and I do a lot of hanging out together since I'm still on maternity leave :) Here's a glimpse into our life the past several weeks:

Selfies with mom don't always make us happy....

We had breakfast with Laurie and Tate (born 2 days after Kennedy) at Austin Java. The babies pretty much slept the whole time!

We go on lots of walks.

And take lots of sleeping pictures :)

Baby's first workout outfit!

The many faces of Kennedy these days :P

Nelson was participated in a bowling tournament with some people from work, so Kennedy and I went to watch him dominate. It was a random chilly day, but luckily we had our cupcake outfit from Aunt Lindsay.

Well... until we had a blowout. Hopefully that's the last time I change a baby's outfit in a bowling alley bathroom.

The outfit from my coworkers in London finally fit. Look at that little cap <3

We also went bathing suit shopping for our upcoming swimming lessons (more on that later). We only kept the two navy ones :)

Lindsay sent me a picture of her holding Dean and how wrinkled his little bottom was, so we decided to see if Kennedy looked the same. You tell me.

We run lots of errands and are so thankful for the mother's room at Buy Buy Baby :)

Morning chats!

Poor Kennedy has to participate in a lot of photo shoots....

Luckily Nelson is just as obsessed as I am :)

Oh yeah, we're still building a house. But it's almost done! We close at the end of May - woohoo!

We cuddle in bed in the mornings after eating.

Kennedy is finally able to see all the mobiles hanging in her face, so this is what she does in her bouncer while I shower haha.

We got all dressed up to meet our new friend Maya! Even though Maya was full-term, she was just a couple ounces bigger than Kennedy at birth and had the same discharge weight. It was so crazy - and sad - to put the two side-by-side and see just how much Kennedy has grown.

Both of these onesies are so true :)

Mornings are our favorite (Kennedy's, not mine).

Kennedy joined me at the doctor's office and looked cute as ever.

She's doing much better at holding her head up during tummy time (definitely one of her least favorite things to do, so we don't do it much).

Before we can move in, we'll need a refrigerator, so we went to Best Buy to see what was out there. The rumble strip at the entrance / exit was too funny on Kennedy's cheeks.

We went to church at Austin Stone for the first time since baby, so we tested out her headphones the night before. I'd say she looks pretty good!

We went to a baby shower for Meagan and baby Donald.

I kinda run out of captions for the random pictures of her just being cute, so here's some more.

Baby's first swimming class!!! At Emler Swim School, it's free for babies 2-5 months. It's a Bathtime Babies class where you just sing songs to them and generally get them used to the water. Kennedy did ok for her first one. It's indoor and the water was heated, but not as warm as her baths. Nelson took a late lunch so he could come and watch - and take pictures and video.

After class, she did this:

Cuteness :)

I took Kennedy up to my office to meet my coworkers. Obviously everyone loved her.

And the trip obviously wore her out.

The tummy is starting to get so big!

The sales girl from Fairmont Princess Scottsdale sent a baby gift: a book about their lobby dogs' adventures and a stuffed dog. So I took Kennedy's picture and sent it to her as a thank you.

More cuteness :)

This was our most Cinco de Mayo shirt we had. Kennedy had her margarita with breastmilk, warm (not on the rocks or frozen), and with no salt.

Emily posted a funny video of her blowing a raspberry and Emerson freaking out. I decided to try it with Kennedy, and she clearly thinks it's just funny.

We also went on our first roadtrip. On Saturday morning, Kennedy woke up to eat at 4:00am, then we loaded up the car and headed to DFW by 5:00am. Our though was that she would sleep most of the way, plus traffic wouldn't be bad. And we were right abut both! We stopped in West so she could eat, but then she went right back to sleep until we pulled up to their house just before 9:00am. We spent the day playing with cousins and hanging out at their house. It was clearly an exhausting day :)

But it really was! Kennedy's used to a really quiet house catered to her napping, but the boys gave her no such peace. She did sleep, but not as long as she usually would and it was pretty disrupted, so that meant she went to sleep at 8:30pm and didn't wake up to eat until 4:00am! And then she slept until 8:00am - and probably would've slept a little longer except Dean was screaming, "Dada! Dada! Dada!" in his room. That was really nice :) Before going to Jackson's last t-ball game of the season, we did a little photo shoot of cousins and got quite a few good outtakes ;)

We had Kennedy's second swimming lesson (in her new suit, of course). It did not go very well. She hadn't slept much all morning, so was exhausted. And being hungry really didn't help the situation either. We got out of the pool about 10 minutes in, she had a quick snack, and then we got back in for the last 10 minutes. Needless to say, she slept about 3 hours after class!

Since we're doing all these swim lessons, it was only practical that she needed a sunhat for when we go to the pool.

I got my oil changed - and someone had more fun in the waiting room :)

Talking to the bouncer mobile :)

We went to lunch with my mom and some of her friends, so Kennedy wore her new kicks.

Right after the above picture when I picked her up, she spit up all down the back of my shirt and shorts. Ugh. But I guess I'm just glad it was my outfit and not her's.

She usually takes over Nelson's spot in bed after he leaves for work.

Looking concerned (and awfully roll-y) during bathtime!

Good morning, sunshine!

Left is before nap, right is during.

That's been my life. And I wouldn't have it any other way <3
