Christmas Festivities - Take 2

Even though we got pictures with Santa at the neighborhood party, I still wanted to see the mall Santa and start that tradition. Nelson's uncle in Taiwan had bought her a beautiful dress for her to wear, and she looked so lovely in it.

Like your typical newbie parent, I didn't know you could schedule an appointment so you don't have to wait in line. Therefore, we waited just over an hour before actually getting in the big guy's lap (since he was on break when we first got there). Kennedy did a great job waiting in line, though?

 

Something I'd learned from the previous Santa photographer was to distract Kennedy while we put her in Santa's lap with a toy, so I had my mom bring a spinning thing that Jackson and Dean play with. It worked like a charm! Nelson snapped some on his phone of her actually smiling before she turned around and saw who was holding her, thus losing it.

 

The lady who actually worked there took some pretty bad pictures and wanted to be done with us, and since Kennedy was no longer happy on Santa's lap, we moved on to the long line of purchasing. Lucky for Nelson I was good with what he took and didn't want to waste the $25+ on a picture that I didn't even like, so we left.

We learned some lessons (go earlier in the month, be more forceful with the people who work there, etc.), but all in all, it was a fun experience to add to our holiday tradition :)
